HR FAQ: Can I specify stay-at-home moms in an ad?

pexels-photo (2)“I have a job that would be perfect for stay-at-home moms to work while their children are in school. Can I specify this in an ad?”

Do not run an ad to single out any particular group of people. This request involves sex discrimination and can include age discrimination. The request violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.  Candidates not meeting these requirements could file a claim with the EECO.
